I had the honor of photographing Diana & Victor’s Wedding at Son Cubano in West New York, NJ. I have known Diana for many years and was delighted when she asked me to be her Wedding Photographer.
Planning a Wedding in the summer is always great! Especially for outdoor shots.
We were all so lucky the weather was perfect! Not too hot or humid, just right.
The Wedding photographer appreciates when the couple cares about the lighting and how it is going to affect their pictures.
Diana & Victor tried ‘The First Look’; where the couple see each other for the first time before the ceremony. Many couples are doing this so they have enough time to take Bride and Groom shots which is big help for the Photographer and also to jump from the ceremony to the cocktail hour and actually enjoy a little more their event and guests.
Diana and Victor chose a beautiful spot, an old peer in northern New Jersey that overlooks the stunning New York city’s skyline. Along with the perfect weather the gorgeous views and the emotion, I am sure this loving pair will never forget their first look.
Some of the highlights of the ceremony were the cutest Flower Girl and a very handsome Ring Bearer! It was a joyful night with great music and lovely people, definitely a night to remember.
Here’s their story
Victor and I met 14 years ago. We knew after our first kiss that we were meant for each other. We didn’t have a normal relationship. Victor came along with 2 beautiful little girls. Alexis was 3 and Briannah was 1. His love for his daughters was what stole my heart even more. At 18 years old I decided that I wanted to help him raise his kids. Against what everyone else thought and said we moved in together after just 6 months.
Our life has always consisted of bettering ourselves and giving the girls everything we never had. We went from a 1 bedroom apartment to a house in the suburbs. We’ve never complained about anything because as long as all 4 of us were together we were happy.
Last year on Mother’s Day Victor proposed to me in front of our entire family. I was so surprised and excited. We had spoken about it for years but having a family always came first. He was carrying my nephew and went down on one knee and my nephew said, will you marry Tio Tia? Then they both put the ring on my finger. It was perfect!
A little over a year later we were getting ready to walk down the isle. So on our 14 year anniversary we decided to get married. We finally were getting our day to share with everyone that has been so important in our lives. We would share how much we loved each other.
So our life didn’t start very traditional, but we are the people we are today because of it. 14 years later we are still in love more then ever. We can’t wait to see what the future brings us.
